An old substation and a Holga.

I came across this old, abandoned substation in Krugersdorp when I was out riding my motorcycle. Fortunately the Holga was in my bag!

Welcome to my blog. My name is Hilton Hamann, I am a Paintographic Artist and former photojournalist who covered the wars in Southern Africa and the changing political scene in South Africa. I am the author of a few traditionally-published books, the best-known of which is "Days of the Generals - the untold story of South Africa's Apartheid-era military generals" now in it's eighth reprint.
I am also the author of the searingly powerful novel, "I Can Hear Them Singing Now" that I have independently published as an ebook.
This blog started life primarily as a place where I could talk about photography and photojournalism but, as my life has changed, so too has it. I still write mostly about photography and writing but sometimes I venture down unmapped paths.
